It has a tadka of mustard seeds and curry leaves, along with some urad and moong dal. You can veggies of your choice to make this recipe extra flavourful. Serve it hot with coconut chutney or some pickle and enjoy a nutritious breakfast. Temper the spices in hot oil, cook the onions and toast the cashews, add other veggies, add washed quinoa, water and salt and cook until done.
Quinoa Upma step by step
- Wash the quinoa and keep aside. Take a pan heat the oil once heated add cumin mustard seeds and urad daal.
- Once crackle add curry leaves and chopped onions sauté for few seconds also add grated ginger.
- Add all chopped veggies and sauté for few seconds.
- Now add 2 cups of water and boil for few seconds. Now add the washed quinoa as well as salt and cook until all water is observed and the quinoa is cooked.
- Your healthy quinoa upma is ready garnish with coriander leaves..
